What is manual therapy?
Manual therapy is a treatment method performed without any device or medication, using only the hands of a specialist trained in manual therapy. It does not simply suppress pain — it acts on the root of the pain: imbalance in the muscles, bones and joints.
How does manipulation differ from mobilisation?
Manipulation releases a joint with a quick, short movement and may only be performed by a physician trained in it. Mobilisation and muscle stretching techniques can also be applied by a physiotherapist.
What are the benefits of manual therapy?
- Rapid pain relief — reduces pain in the neck, upper and lower back, shoulder, knee and other joints within a short time.
- Restored mobility — removes restrictions of joint movement and increases flexibility.
- Better circulation — improves tissue nourishment and speeds up recovery.
- Postural correction — helps prevent tension and curvature in the spine.
